Moving far from home has made it imperative I journal our lives from the Knob. I am hopeful this will allow us to stay connected despite the plethora of miles between us and home....

A Walk in the Park (Sam Peden Community Park that is!)
Well, I did it! 30 minutes of walking yesterday! I was pretty darn pleased with myself. After I used my GPS to locate the closest park with walking paths, I discovered it was RIGHT down the street from my house. It is across from my local Kroger and Wal-Mart. I had NO idea it was so lovely. It was hidden by buildings and a fire station. I wandered back in there and found it. The park is similar to High Park in Derby, KS. It has several different parks to play at around the park. The path is around one mile in length around the pond. There are other paths that veer off of the pond path. I tried one today and it was short and easy. The others looked longer and I was afraid of how far they would go. I knew I didn't want to push the walk as this is my first one in months! I also didn't want to venture to far from the safety of my minivan! As I was finishing up my 30 minutes it occurred to me the whole thing left on my to-do list was laundry, mop and vacuum. (Monday is Mop Day!) I decided I really was in NO hurry to get home, so I walked for another 30 minutes! I managed to get 8,600 steps in before 9 A.M! WOW.
Thanks to our new trampoline I managed to get over 15,000 steps in yesterday!
How did you do? Are you walking with me?

I walked around the city pond 6 times for 1 hour. This morning my hips are sore but feel good. Now to just get my candy addiction under control.
ReplyDeleteI need to stop putting everything I see that is edible into my mouth. The walking would be awesome if I wouldn't feel I could eat MORE because I walked....
