Walking Dead Party Games (Part Three)

So, who would have thought I could blog for a week on a party? Well, I am quite long winded, so I'm totally not surprised! In case you have missed it: Part One & Part Two of the Walking Dead party!
J-Bird and Obe Wan with the cake!

So, we are now ready to tell you about the awesome party! I had three games planned.

The first game: Zombie Tag!

  1. Select the birthday person to be a Zombie, but allow them to select a friend! (Who wants to be "it" alone????)
  2. Explain the rules. Zombies may not RUN! Once a Zombie tags you, you are also a Zombie! You are infected and must try to infect everyone else around you.
  3. Set up perimeters to the game. Make it large enough to escape, but small enough that the Walkers/Zombie people can infect everyone! It was fun to watch this as one fast little whipper snapper was left. It was kinda eerie!

    J-Bird acting like a Zombie!
The fast one who ALMOST survived the infection!

The second game: Apocalypse Survival Scavenger Hunt. I collected items needed for survival:
      • Hard Strawberry Candy
      • Toilet Paper
      • Canned Meat
      • Batteries
      • Body Parts from Zombies (which were on a SUPER clearance on Oriental Trading and no longer exist!)
      • Bottled Water
The boys were aghast! How could they survive without a paracord bracelet and a flashlight? Shoot. How silly of me. I knew I was NOT going to find cheap paracords and flashlights anywhere other than ORIENTAL TRADING! Sweet. They had sent me a coupon, so I was good to go! Ordered that back on Step One! (At the time of this post the flashlights I found have already disappeared. I managed to find a 3-n-1 flashlight with a light, a compass and a whistle!)

Added to the supplies:
  • Paracord
  • Flashlight/whistle/compass
After my Saturday morning Dollar Tree run--added to the supplies:

NOTICE THE CAMO SHIRT? YEAH, he became infected!
  • Can of Soup
  • Beans
  • Plastic eggs filled with Zombie Limb parts
Each of the items was hidden on the farm. The kiddos were given a partner, a list of clues and were sent off to survive while finding the items. NOW--to step up the level of difficulty, the Zombies had found the FARM and were out there willing and ready to bite the humans! The Zombies were given Color packets from my last Glow Run and were allowed to SPRAY the humans with color! This was a HOOT! Once the humans were infected, the had to return to the CDC (Center for Disease Control). This is where Rick, Daryl and the Season One people are headed. There is a cure in Atlanta, GA at the CDC! So, we had a CDC--I told (not asked, mind you...) the GymBF and the Mimi to have water bottles and squirt the "cure" on the kids when they were bit!
CDC--Safe Headquarters!
Gym BF spraying down a human!

The kids were everywhere! Here is the PDF to the clues I used. It could easily be adapted based on a park, a backyard or even a house! I didn't think this activity would take more than an hour. I WAS WRONG. After an hour and twenty minutes, we had to call everyone back to the CDC to count their goods and help out with those who weren't going to survive!
New Haircut kid was ready with his gear!

Prepared with toilet paper! No leaf for this kid!

Doing inventory in a hiding place.

Resting at the CDC. At first they were running, after awhile they let the Zombies get them so they could get a spray of cold water!

They had to "sneak" onto property to get to the abandoned chicken coop! It was fun to watch them crawl under or through the barbed wire!
The girls are hiding in the trees! They have a gun man watching their back!

These boys decided to team up. Obe Wan told me this is how you survive. DUH MOM.

Blue shirt is being chased by A ZOMBIE! You can see the color packet in pink shirt girl's hand!

This picture is perfect! Hunt, or be the hunted?
Game Three: NERF WAR on the Zombies!
I went to Cabelas to find targets and a stand. I was miffed by the cost. I get it as there are people who hunt, shoot, whatever, but DANG. I was not going to spend that kinda money, so I went to Dollar Tree (AGAIN) and bought Garage Sale signs! Perfect. I had ordered Zombie Targets from Amazon. Yes, apparently, people who hunt have a warped sense of humor! Every child had brought their own Nerf Gun. I supplied the Darts and it was on!
The Zombie was relieved to find a gun!
