Steps to an AWESOME 'Walking Dead' Party!

What a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon--with some of my good friends AND the besties of the boys! It was super important to have a joint birthday party when we were in Kansas over Spring Break! Each boy was allowed to invite ONLY three friends. (This morphed a bit as we had to invite their cool siblings as well!)

After some research on Pinterest and watching some episodes again...I formulated a plan for the party! Go Zombies! Or as I was quickly corrected, WALKERS! We decided to mix the television seasons a bit and include different elements from Season One until current day!

I made little J-Bird call his Mimi and ask if he could have a birthday party at her house when we were in town over Spring Break. WHO COULD SAY NO to that little cute guy???

So we were SUPER blessed to be able to have the party on a 10 ACRE Christmas Tree Farm. (A quick shout out to Mimi & Papa for allowing us to use Windy Knoll Tree Farm!)

So my prep work to make this party happen started three weeks before the actual date! I'm going to use the next few days to tell you what I did to make this party R-O-C-K!

Step One: Make really cool Zombie invites! I used my Cameo Silhouette. They had some cool Zombie designs! Send out 1.5 weeks prior to party!

Step Two: Go order a cake from Dillons as time was limited! I knew I wanted the door from the original season to be on the cake. I got my idea from this Pinterest Post....25 Horror Movie Cakes That We’re Dying To Eat! The Walking Dead Zombie Cake

Step Three: Go to Oriental Trading Company and buy Zombie Party Goods! I also needed to buy supplies for the games. I'll get to when I post about the games.

Step Four: Go to Dollar Tree and stock up on the Zombie Apocalypse supplies and other misc. items for the games I had created. (Beleive it or not, but I came up with the games on my own and without Pinterest. SHOCKER there!) I did this in IN and hauled it all to Kansas with me!

Step Four.five: Go to Cabelas to find shooting targets for the games--just wait, I'll get to the games! When at Cabelas make the mistake of taking your seven and nine year old who MUST HAVE a camouflage shirt for their birthday! (THOSE SHIRTS WERE LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS!)

Step Five: Go to Goodwill and buy a sheet to create the Terminus entry sign. This would be hung from a Pine Tree as you entered the farm property! (Those who arrive--survive!)
