Even Superheroes get distracted....

Today's project was not on the list. I walked into my storage room, took one look at the boxes and turned around and went to Pinterest. Little Luke Skywalker had a Superhero room in Kansas, but I knew it was time to give him the next big boy room---Star Wars! Needless to say I had a TON of Superhero stuff and no where to put it. Why not move it into the exercise room? But really, when do I exercise and I own ONE piece of exercise equipment--a treadmill. Why have a room for one piece of furniture that I use once a week, okay, only when I am training for a race with the gym BF, but what a waste of space. SO....I decided to make the exercise room into a Superhero room--playroom/exercise room! When I told Luke Skywalker I was going to do a "Brothers are the best Superhero" room, he bunched up his face and proclaimed, "Obe Wan is NOT a superhero." I laughed! How apropos!

Needless to say, when the Jedi Knights got off the school bus on Wednesday and we were walking up the drive into the house I asked them to ask me--"What did you do today Mom?" And I merely smiled and said, I started work on Gotham City! They both looked at me like I was an idiot. (I'm really getting used to this look, so I ignore it most of the time.) I took them to the basement to show them the creation I had started. Their little faces lit up! IT was well worth the two hours of taping off the city skyline!

Little Luke Skywalker jumped right in and started helping! I took many different ideas from Pinterest and created my own version of a Batman City Scape. I'm pretty stoked about it. I will say you MUST have patience to make this work. Not only do you tape the outline, but every 24 hours you must wait for the paint to cure and then you move the tape again to paint another building. Painful to someone who wants a project done and crossed off! Who doesn't love the cross off????

Back to creating Gotham City. I'm taking pictures of the steps in case you too want to create Gotham City in Kansas.
